Teaching English

Teaching English is perhaps one of the most popular and highly satisfying career choices. English is now spoken by people in every culture, either as their first language or as their second. Many people learn to speak English to communicate with business associates or friends and family members whose mother tongue is the English language. It has been predicted that by the year 2030, more than half the population of the world will speak English. Teaching English, therefore, is a profession that brings numerous possibilities.


There are, at any given time, thousands of jobs overseas for teaching English. Many new teaching graduates find that they can gain the experience needed for their profession by accepting a job teaching English overseas. With the overwhelming need for English speaking teachers, the job field is wide open for teachers from every corner of the world. For those who speak English fluently, there are many opportunities for job placement abroad.


Teaching English overseas brings with it many rewards, not the least of which is the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of students. Having the ability to explore new cultures and surroundings while earning an income and teaching experience is one reason that many teachers opt to find placement in positions overseas. Many employers prefer that a teacher have at least two years of experience before job placement. New teachers have found the by working overseas for two or three years, they can gain the much needed experience to ensure that they are highly qualified for the field.


Teaching English as a second language has become a very popular field. The job search for these positions is more wide open than many realize. With English being the universal language, many countries are enlisting the help of English speaking teachers to instruct their schools and organizations in the proper use of the language. Since there seems to be a world-wide need for English instruction, those interested in teaching overseas have a wide open job market in which to apply.

This is a wonderful way for new teachers fresh out of college to experience the teaching profession and gain the experience that they need in order to secure a position closer to home in the future.
