Part-time Jobs for Teachers
Many full-time teachers take on part-time jobs (nebenjob) to supplement their incomes, particularly during the summer months when they are not teaching school. Among the most preferred part-time jobs for teachers includes tutoring. Tutoring other students either locally or online has become a very popular way in which teachers can add to their existing income. Many online tutoring sites hire certified teachers to help students overcome difficulties with one or more subjects.
Normally these students are elementary to high school age and need help with a particular aspect of subjects such as English and mathematics. Teachers who are certified, and often tenured, are hired by tutoring companies frequently since they have the skills and experience as well as the formal education that may be required to help students in some cases. Although there are other part-time jobs for teachers, some sell real estate during their off time; many choose to tutor students because it is highly related to their career choice. Teachers are trained to help students learn and tutoring a student through a difficult time or subject is precisely what teachers are trained to do so well.
It is not surprising that teachers take on part-time jobs even in cosmetics (kosmetik). Many who have no children or whose children are grown find themselves bored and restless during the summer months. Since, in most areas, schools are closed for eight to twelve weeks during the summer, teachers often find themselves with entirely too much time on their hands. Taking on a part-time job, either in a traditional setting or by working online, helps these teachers not only to have something productive to pass their time but also to earn extra money that they may need. Whether they are saving for a vacation, a home or anything else that they want, teachers can potentially earn enough just during the summer months to help tremendously with their expenses.
