Awnings and Blinds for Classrooms

Awnings and blinds for classrooms

Having awnings and blinds (Markisen & Rollos) in classrooms can be very beneficial to the overall health and study habits of students. Studies have shown that students who are allowed some outside air and sunlight on a daily basis have better physical development including height, weight, body fat and dental health. Having an awning or blind in the classroom allows the teacher or instructor to give their students a look outside from time to time while still maintaining control over the learning process.

Awnings and blinds (markisen) help by avoiding the glare that would be present from sunlight in windows without coverings. By allowing some sunlight in, children feel more energized and can focus much more. These coverings also allow for ventilation of the classroom which is vitally important to reducing the cooling costs as well as reducing the number of germs in the classroom. Fresh air is needed on a daily basis to ensure that germs are kept at a minimum.

Having fresh air on occasion also helps to improve concentration. Although direct sunlight can sometimes interfere with sight particularly in rooms with computers, having fresh air in the classroom is extremely important. Using blinds and awnings to help block out the sunlight while still providing the room with a good amount of fresh air is the best way to ensure that students remain healthy.

Plisse Awnings and blinds (Plissee Jalousien) serve as shading devices in the classroom. Shading devices are necessary to reduce the glare from sunlight as well as the heat from the windows. By reducing the amount of heat that comes through the window, a user can effectively reduce the overall cost of cooling the classroom. As if providing shade and cutting down the cost of cooling bills were not enough, awnings and blinds can be found in a wide range of colors, styles and designs making them the perfect choice for accenting any classroom décor
